Important Announcement

THIS IS NOT!!!! THE ORIGINAL RATBIKE.ORG, BUT AN ARCHIVE FOR THOSE WHO CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT IT.

[Update July 2010]
Just taken some new pictures of my gpz500ratfighter - I've had Hours of fun building this and now its road legal its been giving me many more hours of riding pleasure. A list of some of the work done is as follows:
  • Re-fabricated frame
  • Re-fabricated head stock and Renthal type bars
  • All panels fabricated out of sheet alloy
  • Tail section fabricated from scrap steel tubing sheet steel and a single seat hump from a zx600.
  • Not sure what the seat is from but when first fitted it was really uncomfortable so now It now pivots on a couple of clutch springs (much much better)
  • Belly pan is original but patched and riveted with sheet alloy.
  • Tank is original but I have used more sheet alloy to fill the gap where the original seat fitted as well as create a tank protector.
  • The Headlights I think are from a gsxr but I had to fabricate a frame to hold them.
  • The engine is standard except the air box has been replaced by individual filters and carbs dynojetted . It runs well but not as well as the original air box.
  • The bottle on the side is for coolant expansion and not NOS. (NOS would be fun though!)

[Update March 2011]
Just a couple of changes really firstly i butchered the end can and re fabricated it out of an old Nexus can and some sheet alloy (loads of banging firegum and rivets) turned the pipe around (so its at a nice angle with the frame) and tidied up the pipework with some exhaust tape. so it looks good and sound better (hopefully Mr MOT will think so too) the only other detail is a bar end mirror to help me spot the old bill following me.
